Moto BMX

The Moto BMX brake offers all the power of the Motolite, but trades a few grams for more adjustability.

By removing the large scallop on the front of the arm, we've made it so the collar can easily slide up the arm another two centimeters. With this one exception, these brakes happily share all the same features as the Motolite.

On a Pro sized BMX frame, the Moto BMX brake will work with both Pro and Mini (1⅜") sized rims. It even allows for 700c wheels on mountain bikes designed for 26" wheels.

The arms are precision ground and then CNC machined into a design that is light, but more importantly strong and reliable. A polished collar fits around the arms and holds the Kool-Stop brake pads in place, while allowing them to be finely tuned for height and toe-in. Very nice.

First introduced in 1990, the pivot mechanism has an excellent track record. It's pre-greased for smooth action and sealed to keep it that way. Specially wound square springs offer a snappy return and are easily adjusted and balanced.

The quick-release works so well and is so simple; the only reason it isn't widely copied is because Shimano doesn't use it. The arms are reversible so the cable can come in from the left or right, and the noodle is lined with Teflon to reduce friction.
