Chain Rings

Chain Rings

Our chain rings are machined out of 6.3mm thick aluminum plate that is precision ground for a smooth finish. They're designed to work with our cranks running ⅛" chains (track and bmx), and are unpolished.

Chain rings are available in two different patterns and six different sizes. 32, 34, 36, 39, 46 and 48 tooth rings are available in our Circles pattern, while 46 and 48 tooth rings are also available in our "Royal Flush" suit of cards pattern.

If your crank is the newer style (introduced in February of 2010) with Torx T25 chain ring screws and a thicker spider, you can replace your chain ring.

If you have an older crank with hex head chain ring screws, we do not recommend replacing your chain ring. These cranks were not designed to be disassembled and the threaded spider on the drive-side crank arm can become damaged and strip during re-assembly.

When removing or installing chain rings care must be taken to avoid cross-threading the screws. The threading on the crank arm and chain ring screws is very fine and can be damaged by improper installation. Additionally, over-tightening the chain ring screws can lead to damage of the screws or crank arm.

Paul Component Engineering will not be held responsible for damage occurring during chain ring replacement. For more information on chain ring replacement, please read this guide.
