Fixie/Single
I've been commuting on this bike alot lately. It's got a fixed gear/freewheel flipflop setup in back, but honestly the freewheel side hasn't been used in years. There is a short loop near my house in Bidwell Park I do too. It is a quick 1/2 hour workout I like to do before work if time is tight. It has an Ideal leather saddle I found in a used parts bin at a bike shop I worked at in about 1984. When I found it it was already old, now it's just plain ancient. It's one of my favorites. The brakes are Suntour Superb, which are very, very nice. The Cranks are first generation Campy Chorus 170's that my mom brought me home from Italy. Both hubs are High Flange's converted to quick release. Because this bike has the PAUL single speed dropouts I can run a q-r rear. If you have plain horizontal dropouts do not attempt this, the wheel WILL move and probably at a time when it is most inconvenient ! |
