June 1st, 2005: So, what do you do when you develop a new centerpull brake and need a testbed asap? Well you pull out the old College Commuter out of the attic of course. I rode this bike all through engineering school. It was a fixed gear for a long time, I was fixed before fixed was cool. (Not sure if that is a good thing or not) After I moved to Chico I somehow got one of the first Shimano 7 Speed Nexus hub brought into the country, and it was on this bike until recently.

Yesterday I pulled it out of the pile upstairs and freshened it up a bit. I've had a lot of questions about the single Crosslever only setup so I did it that way. I like it. Front tire is a 700c x 47, and it fits nicely. I think this must have been a 27" wheel fork because of the clearance. At any rate the brake works perfectly with this setup.
