Before you can make all the parts, you have to make all the fixtures, and these aren’t something you can buy off a shelf! All of our production and assembly fixtures are one-offs made by Paul or Patrick or Jacob in the manual machine shop (although Jacob just made our first ever 3D printed fixtures, but that’s a story for a different Friday 😉). This fixture is for pressing the little sealed cartridge-bearings into our Canti and Love levers. Once mounted in an arbor press, a little magnet holds the bearing until you press-fit it into the lever blade with a pull on the arbor press. In theory these bearings could be replaced down the line, but we haven’t had to do it yet. Thank you for attending our Ted Talk, happy Friday! ✌️

Sure, you might see us goofing off and getting weird at bike events, but when we get back to work in the machine shop, we take our work VERY serious!
