Love Lever

The Love Lever is a lightweight long-pull brake lever designed for comfortable two-finger (Compact) or three-finger (2.5) operation. Dual sealed-cartridge bearings provide maximum power and rigidity with zero slop, while the reach adjustment screw and oversized barrel adjuster allow you to easily dial in ergonomics. Machined to the highest tolerances in Chico California.

  • Cable Pull
    Long Pull↓

Long pull brake levers have more leverage than short pull brake levers and pull a longer amount of cable as they are actuated.

They are intended only for use with long pull brakes, such as linear pull brakes, v-brakes and cable-actuated disk brakes.

  • Clamp Diameter
    22.2mm↓

22.2mm is equivalent to 7/8 inches, and is the diameter of most mountain bike handlebars. Many flat bars, risers and city bars have this diameter. It is measured at the end of the bar where grips and brake levers attach.

Product Story

These levers are compatible with all long-pull cable operated brakes. We recommend them for use with our Motolite brakes, but they will work well paired with any v-brake, long-pull mechanical disc brake, (like our Klamper), or any other long pull brake. For a short pull brake lever see our Canti Lever.

Love Levers are machined in-house to extremely high tolerances (0.0002″). The pivot features dual sealed cartridge bearings for the smoothest, stiffest brake lever you will ever use. Like all our components, these will be serviceable for a lifetime.

A 5mm set screw in the side of the lever perch allows you to adjust the reach, setting the distance from the bar to the lever to fit your hands.

Barrel adjusters are included for fine-tuning your brakes, and their oversized design and smooth shape makes it easy to adjust them by hand, even wearing thick winter gloves.

Love Levers are one of our perennial best sellers, and we believe you’ll love the action and the ergonomics of these beauties.

Our monthly email is an ongoing bike conversation for creative people who spend a lot of time in their garage.
Should we bring back #FixtureFriday ? Before you c Should we bring back #FixtureFriday ? Before you can make all the parts, you have to make all the fixtures, and these aren’t something you can buy off a shelf! All of our production and assembly fixtures are one-offs made by Paul or Patrick or Jacob in the manual machine shop (although Jacob just made our first ever 3D printed fixtures, but that’s a story for a different Friday 😉).
This fixture is for pressing the little sealed cartridge-bearings into our Canti and Love levers. Once mounted in an arbor press, a little magnet holds the bearing until you press-fit it into the lever blade with a pull on the arbor press. In theory these bearings could be replaced down the line, but we haven’t had to do it yet. Thank you for attending our Ted Talk, happy Friday! ✌️
