Microshift Thumbies

Miss thumb shifters? Converting a drop bar bike to flat bars? Want to run a Shimano MTB drivetrain on your drop-bar bike, with shifting accessible right from the flats? These easily transform bar-end (aka “barcon” or “TT”) shifters into thumb-shifters. The Microshift shifters are not included, but are readily available in 8 through 12-speed, Shimano and SRAM versions, and many have an option for friction-shifting. These mounts are also compatible with the Microshift Alfine/Nexus 8-speed shifter (part #BS-N08). Be sure you are using the MTB Microshift (or Gevenalle) model, as the Road version is smaller and will not fit properly.

Product Story

Thumbies bring back the thumb shifting of old, and we think it makes shifting more precise and smoother. These feel much better in our opinion than trigger or twist shifters.

Thumbies have a hinged clamp for an easy installation and fit handlebars with a diameter of 22.2mm or 31.8mm. 22.2mm is equivalent to 7/8 inches, and is the diameter of most mountain bike handlebars. Many flat bars, risers and city bars have this diameter. It is measured at the end of the bar where grips and brake levers attach. 31.8mm is most commonly used on modern road handlebars near where the stem clamps.
The clamp is raised up to give clearance for hydraulic brake levers. They have a shifter mounting boss that fits MICROSHIFT and Gevenalle mountain shifters.

Introducing the BËP. It’s just a handlebar plug Introducing the BËP. It’s just a handlebar plug, right? Sure, but when the machinist bike nerds at PAUL start
designing, prototyping, (obsessing), and testing a project, even a simple bar plug can end up at
NASA-level standards of tolerance, function, and reliability.
We think we’ve arrived at the highest quality handlebar plugs in the world. Cheap rubber and
plastic construction were never good enough. 100% CNC machined aluminum expanding-
wedge construction means that once tightened properly, they’re NEVER falling out or coming
loose.

Since we’re bringing back framebuilding parts, w Since we’re bringing back framebuilding parts, we figured we may as well make another batch of Permanent Pivots. These elegant CNC machined stainless steel brake bosses allow you to remove the pivots from any PAUL rim brakes, and mount your brakes directly to the boss for a super clean, simple aesthetic. These have been very popular when framebuilders are designing a bike around Racer and Racer-M brakes, which would be locked into PAUL brakes anyways, but you can also use them for any of our Canti and V brakes.
